VIPs to taste SA's finest in brandy at Gugulethu event
Movers and shakers, deal-makers, celebrities and other high-profile personalities attending the debut Gugulethu Wine Festival on Friday, May 27 and Saturday, May 28, will be able to sample South Africa’s finest in brandy, courtesy of luxury portfolio Fine Brandy.By Design. The line-up of exclusive international award-winning brandies will be on offer in the VIP tent only and will be presented by brandy expert Helmuth Kisting.
Brandies served will include the Van Ryn’s Collection Reserve, arguably the most decorated name in South African brandy with three Worldwide Best Brandy wins on the International Wine & Spirit Competition in London and three Best Brandy trophies earned on the International Spirits Challenge. The gold medalists from the Oude Meester ensemble - Demant, 12 Year Old Reserve and the 18-year-old Souverein will also be available to taste, as will the top-of-the range Klipdrift potstill, Klipdrift Gold and Collison’s White Gold.
“Guests will be able to experience these gourmet brandies neat, with ice or mixers to suit their personal preference,” says Kisting. “We want them to have the opportunity to discover for themselves why our local brandies excel so consistently on leading world competitions.”
The two-day festival is being hosted by local entrepreneurs Mzoli Ngcawuzele and Lungile Mbalo from Mzoli’s Place and will be held on the roof of the Gugulethu Square Mall.
