Rare Zonnebloem magnums – the perfect gift for the man who has it all
Zonnebloem has released two specially selected 2002 red wines at optimal maturity in super size magnums that will make the
ideal macho gift this festive season.
Available exclusively through Spar, the 2002 magnum vintages of Zonnebloem Merlot and Shiraz are sure to add a wow factor to
any festive dinner table.
One of South Africa’s most enduring wine brands, Zonnebloem is famous for its bold reds that are particularly well-structured
with a rich history of longevity. These two well-aged wines are no exception and were held back for careful maturation in a
controlled environment after the initial release and are now available in 1,5 litre magnums.
Zonnebloem Merlot 2002 is rich in prominent fruit aromas with seductive traces of violets, cherries and chocolate on the
nose, whilst the palate delights with ample fruit flavours enhanced by a touch of oak spiciness.
Zonnebloem Shiraz 2002 is a medium-bodied wine packed with plum and berry flavours on the nose, whilst the palate is rich in
dried fruit flavours and spice with woody and vanilla tones in the background.
Zonnebloem is one of South Africa’s first major wine brands dating back to the early part of the 18th century. Today the time
honoured tradition lives on from the vineyards, tended by the same families for over three generations, to the meticulous
craftsmanship in the cellar. The result is an illustrious range of wines slowly coaxed to perfection until they are released
at optimum quality. These full-bodied wines are well-structured to show varietal character with rich, robust flavours, yet
remain accessible and easy to drink with a soft palate.
