The Fleur du Cap Theatre Awards were announced during a glamorous black-tie affair at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town tonight. The awards, held annually under the auspices of Distell for almost 40 years, are the only major awards to recognise and reward local theatre talent in the Cape Metropole.

Mix in some well-known friends, every one a star in their own right: Shawn Phillips, Concord Nkabinde, Carlo Mombelli, Laurinda Hofmeyr and Neo Muyanga. The resulting CD is a unique musical collaboration called Hadeda, to be launched with two special concerts at the Oude Libertas Amphitheatre in Stellenbosch on 6 and 7 February.
